A Glimpse of Prophetic Beauty
Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) was the last prophet and a true preacher of Islam. His companions described the Prophet’s beautiful form in a way that it dazzled all the people who heard of him. They said The Messenger of Allah had the most beautiful face which illuminated like white light. He was neither excessively tall nor too short. His face was round and bright like moon. No one before or after him has looked like him and if you were to see him you would say, ‘The sun has risen’. When he would speak, a radiant light is seen to be emitting between his teeth.
The Prophet (PBUH) had a black beard and a beautiful mouth.
The beloved of Allah Almighty had broad shoulders and was the greatest of all other creatures that ever existed and are yet to exist. His hairs were soft as silk. The companions of the last Prophet used to state that they never saw anything more beautiful than him. It was as if the Prophet was fashioned of silver and his sweat was pearl drops. The last preacher of Islam had a beautiful voice and was truly considered to be best in character. Sometimes the Prophet would walk in between two tall men yet he would seem taller and when they would part ways he would appear once again of medium height. Everything about this respected personality is magical.
Sayyiduna Anas Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu said, I have never smelled ambergris or anything sweeter than the saliva of Holy prophet (PBUH). Once he was brought a bucket of water so he drinks from it. When the remaining water was dipped back into the well it was covered with a pleasant fragrance. Even the sweat of holy prophet (PBUH) was more fragrant than musk or any other perfume. Umar the great (May Allah be well pleased with Him) says, “The fragrance of His sweat is the fragrance of musk. Sayyiduna Anas Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu said, Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) came to take a nap at our house and had perspired, so my mother came with a bottle and began to soak up the sweat. To this the Prophet woke up from his peaceful sleep and asked about what was happening to which the mother of Umm Sulaym replied, ‘We mix this sweat in our perfumes, and it is the finest scent.
The Prophet (PBUH) was a man of his words and without a doubt the most beautiful of person in his qualities. His cheeks were smooth and hairs were black. The eyes of Allah’s messenger were no less than shining pearls. The history states that when the Prophet (PBUH) would open his beautiful mouth it was mostly smiles, revealing something like hailstones. Of Allah’s servants, he had the most beautiful lips and the corners of his mouth were the softest.” His complexion was white as milk without any redness or yellowness. Inside the Prophet’s Mosque, Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar would frequently recite the verses of his uncle Abu Talib in description of the Prophet’s SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam complexion:
A fair one, by virtue of whose face the rain is sought
A caretaker of the orphans, a guardian of the widows
