Accountability On The Day Of Judgment
Everything that is present in this world whether it’s human or any other creature is temporary and none can survive on this earth always. There are many clear signs in the Quran for all of us that there is Someone Who is managing and controlling all that is happening in this Universe, and no doubt that Someone is Allah Almighty.
The most important events that will take place on Dooms Day are when we will be held responsible for our deeds and when we will be inquired by Allah Almighty. There are many verses and Hadith in Quran Majeed that explains about these events so that we believers will be prepared for the final test and final verdict of Allah. Allah Pak says that: “Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.” ( Surat Al-‘Anbia’, Verse 1)
He also says that: “Verily, to Us will be their return: -Then verily, for Us will be their Reckoning.”And
“Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.” ( Surat Al-A’raf)
These verses and hadith tells us about one of the events that will arise on the Judgment Day. It’s Al-Hissab that will happen on this day and that is when Allah Almighty will ask from us what we have done in our lives.
There will be two different ways that Allah Almighty will hold us and non believers accountable for our deeds.
In the first way, He will swiftly and simply browse our deeds and will let us to enter Jannah (Paradise) safely. Only those people who believe strongly with probity will enter Paradise in this way.
In the second way, Allah will discuss the people’s deeds minutely and thoroughly and will hold them responsible for each evil act we committed. Allah will then send those people away to the Hell Fire. These people are disbelievers, those who are not honest and those who are weak in their faith will enter the Hell in this way.
Allah Almighty explains that Day as:
“On the Day when every person will be confronted with all the good he has done, and all the evil he has done, he will wish that there were a great distance between him and his evil.” ( Surat Al-Imran, Verse 30)
The people with strong faith and good deeds will have an easy reckoning and Allah will cover up his sins after He reminds him about them. Then he will forgive him from his sins, and let him enter paradise. Allah will confront His servant directly, without a mediator.
The Messenger (PBUH) said: “Allah will talk to everyone directly, without a translator. The person will look to his right, and will not see anything but his deeds. Then the person, will look in front of himself and will see nothing but the hellfire facing him. So protect yourself from Hellfire even by giving a charity of half a date.”
The first thing that will be asked from us is Prayer on Dooms Day. As a Muslim we all know that Prayer is a right of Allah Almighty and we will be asked about it. We will be questioned if our prayers were done completely and with good quality. If we offer prayers with the greatest quality then we will be saved and if our prayers were not done completely or offered without any interest then our additional nawafil will be enough for the shortcomings.
The good Muslim is the one who prepares himself and will be ready to face those difficult events by getting closer to Allah Almighty, by leading the life according to Allah and His Messenger’s rules and by staying away from what Allah has forbidden, so that he will be among those who receive their book of deeds on the Day of Judgment in their right hand and Allah will allow them to enter Paradise.
