It is narrated in Surah Al-Baqrah that Ramadan is the month in which Holy Quran was sent down to Holy Prophet PBUH as guidance for mankind with clear signs containing discrimination and guidance. Any of us who are healthy enough should observe fast in Ramadan. But those who are travelling or ill should fast after Ramadan as Qada Rozas.
Ramadan Kareem is the time of the year for Muslim when we feel the need to reconsider our bond with Allah SWT and try to establish a profound and more firm relation with Him. This is, howbeit, not something that we do with some outer motives. It is in the nature of this holy month, in the very spirit of Ramadan that we automatically get closer to Allah Almighty.
Fasting is one of the acts of worship via which we Muslims keep our soul full of spiritual blessings that Allah SWT bestows in this holy month. A believer fulfills this observance only to earn Allah Almighty’s approval. It is one of the spiritual awards that give tranquility and peace to the heart.
Meanwhile, there is this one attribute of this holy month from which believers can definitely benefit in the spiritual sense. A believer can make Ramadan be the gate that opens to a profound state of mind in which he feels Allah’s existence at every moment of his life. It is because this blessed month is a time during which believer appreciates the blessings surrounding him wholeheartedly and develop an even deeper love for his Allah Almighty. Ramadan is the month when souls are purified. It has been said that if person’s sins were not forgiven in this blessed month then they will not be forgiven until the next year’s Ramadan or until he performs Hajj.
Ramadan is a time of elevation of soul. It is the time when a person can change his outlook on his life and attach a more profound and divine meaning to it as he draws closer to Allah Almighty.
