Special Deeds of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Ramadan
Ramadan is one of those Islamic months which has supreme importance and is considered sacred. On its arrival, Muslims of the whole world make special preparations and arrangements. This month is supposed to be celebrated with all zest and zeal. Highlights of this month are
- Taraweeh
- Fasting
- Recitation of Quran
- Additional prayers
Other than these, there are many other deeds which Muslims have adopted from the Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He is the most beloved and last prophet of Islam. The way he used to get excited on arrival of Ramadan and the way he celebrated this month is matchless. He used to spend day and night in worshipping Allah Almighty. His nights were booked for additional prayers, taraweeh and tahajud. Each Muslim should try to incorporate these deeds in their lives. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) guided Muslims regarding the importance of Ramadan. In one of his hadiths he states:
“Whoever fasted in Ramadan out of sincere Faith and pure belief, hopping for some precious reward from Allah Almighty, all of his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the nights of Ramadan out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”
This hadith clearly shows that Ramadan is the month of countless blessings and forgiveness. One who will follow this month sincerely, Allah Almighty will bless him/her and forgive his/her all previous sins. Therefore it is important that this month is observed in its true spirit as it will make our faith firm and one will ask mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty more sincerely.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) stressed on the understanding of Quran Paak. The study of this book is above all kinds of other worldly studies. It should be the first priority of each Muslim as its importance increases by double fold in the month of Ramadan. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated:
“Hazrat Jibreel used to meet Him [Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)] every night in Ramadan to study the Holy Quran carefully together.”
Therefore whoever follows this Sunnah in holy month of Ramadan will be rewarded in a special way on judgment day. Therefore each one of us should try to read and study Quran with translation as much as possible in Ramadan.
